Large Multicenter Trial Will Measure Effects of GL7O1 (DHEA) on Disease Symptoms and Activity in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)

Objective
To demonstrate whether treatment with GL7O1 (DHEA) can improve clinical outcome and disease symptoms in SLE.
Patients
Approximately 300 women (age 18 or greater) with clinically active lupus.
Treatment
GL7O1 (DHEA) 200 mg/day or placebo
Duration of Treatment
12 months. Patients will return for assessments at 13 week intervals during the one year at the study. Patients completing the 12 month study may be eligible to receive GL701 in an open jade safety study.

If you have at least one living parent, we need your help for a study currently being conducted. This study should result in a greater understanding of lupus leading to more effective treatments.

Participation includes taking your medical history, collecting information from your doctor, and providing a sample of DNA extracted from buccal cells (buccal cells are collected by using a soft brush to scrape the cells from the inside of your cheek). It's that simple!
